Shining Up Faucets

Commercial glass cleaners will shine up most faucets and fixtures. However if your water is heavy with minerals then an acidic cleaner like white vinegar will do a better job. In severe cases, commercial products may be necessary but make sure to use these products as directed. If you have brass fixtures, be sure any cleaner you use is safe for that metal. To remove small spots of rust on chrome, scrub with aluminum foil. Ball up a small piece of foil with the shiny side out. Rub the rust until it disappears, then polish the chrome.

Cleaning Under Appliances

  • The best cleaning tool for tight spaces under and behind large appliances may be in the car, the long handled brush you use to sweep snow from the windshield is just the right size and shape to go under the refrigerator or behind the stove.
  • For wider crevices, try an old paint roller on an extension stick.
